The two most common complaints that my clients come to me for are stress and sleep disorders. Waking up and staring at the ceiling or not being able to fall asleep easily are two of the most frustrating things especially when you’re completely exhausted. Of course stress and sleep are interlinked, our stress hormones contribute to a lack of sleep and in turn our lack of sleep contribute to our stress levels the next day and it’s a perpetual cycle that leaves us feeling irritable and exhausted all of the time. By the time most of my clients come to see me looking for a solution, they’ve been in this cycle for a while, some even years!
Do you struggle setting New Year's resolutions? Or set them and fail to achieve them? A kinder and more impactful thing to do is to set a year full of intentions in each area of your life rather than goals. Setting goals and deadlines then striving to achieve them can perpetuate the cycle of do do do and when we don't achieve our goals we become disappointed with ourselves.
Welcome to our monthly article focused on Loneliness this month. Being alone and lonely are two different things as we discuss below. While some of us are craving solitude at this time of year, some of us are faced with the crippling despair of loneliness even as we are surrounded by friends and family. Building a deep connection to yourself, knowing who you are and what's important to you can be helpful in alleviating loneliness. You can have hundreds of friends on social media, in the office and a loving family yet still feel desperately lonely. It's about building a relationship to yourself and nurturing meaningful relationships that resonate with you.
Welcome to the second of our deep dive subjects, this month is all about SLEEP!
We will be exploring real and practical topics every month that we feel lack a voice in an industry that focusses on feeling happy all the time. These are topics that many of you have talked to us about personally via email or in person. If you have a topic that you feel needs to be addressed then feel free to contact us at email@example.com. Last month we explored Stress and Anxiety and with the holiday season coming up in December we’ll explore the topic of Loneliness.
One of them most common complaints from our clients is a lack of sleep, either not being able to get enough through poor routines, diet, stress, young children or waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep.
We literally have everything we could ever wish for but when it comes to Christmas we kind of go a bit overboard indulging our loved ones with things that they don't really need....
